How we're different
We recommend a plan when it makes sense. We leave it alone when it does not.
Shannon and Dustin Swanson will not move you into a new Medicare plan just to write an application. The plan has to fit your doctors, your prescriptions, and your budget. If the one you have still does that, they will say so.
What “makes sense” means here
A plan makes sense when you can keep the doctors and hospitals you use, fill your prescriptions at a cost you understand, and pay a premium or copay pattern you can live with. Extras such as dental money or a grocery allowance are nice. They do not rescue a network that dropped your cardiologist.
A plan does not make sense when it looks cheaper on a flyer and costs more once you use it, or when it asks you to change doctors for a benefit you will not use. That is the appointment where we tell you to keep your card in your wallet.
What an appointment looks like
- 1
You tell us who you see, what you take, and what you want to keep.
- 2
We look up the plans available at your address, including the one you already have.
- 3
We put the real differences next to each other: doctors, drugs, hospitals, and what you pay.
- 4
If nothing is clearly better, we say keep it.
- 5
If a change helps, we explain the tradeoff and you decide. We stay available after the effective date.
A family, not a script
Shannon has done this work for more than 15 years. Dustin is her son, and the agency is their household’s business. You can see their faces on the home page because they want you to know who picks up the phone.
That matters in October, when mailers pile up, and it matters in March, when a bill does not look like the one you expected. You call the same two people.
Questions about this approach
What if my current plan is fine?
Then the recommendation is to keep it. We will tell you that directly. A meeting that ends with “stay put” is a good meeting.
Do you get paid if I keep my plan?
If you make no change, there is no commission. We still tell people to stay when staying is the right call. The relationship is worth more than one application.
Who will I talk to?
Shannon Swanson or her son Dustin. The agency is the two of them. You can call either number and reach the family that runs the business.
