Medicare Advantage, checked against the doctors you already use.

A Medicare Advantage plan, also called Part C, is a private plan that provides your Medicare Part A and Part B benefits. Many plans include Part D drug coverage and extras such as dental, vision, hearing, or an allowance for everyday items. The plan is only a fit if your doctors, hospitals, and prescriptions line up with it.

What we look at first

In central Oklahoma, two plans with the same premium can treat OU Health, Integris, Mercy, SSM Health St. Anthony, and Norman Regional very differently. We start with the physicians and hospitals you want to keep, then the medications you take and the pharmacy you prefer.

Premium is only one number. Copays, the out-of-pocket maximum, referral rules, and whether a specialist is in network change what you actually spend. We put those differences next to each other in plain language.

Extras are real, and they are specific

Some Medicare Advantage plans include dental and vision, an over-the-counter allowance, a grocery or flex benefit, or a Part B premium giveback that can show up in your Social Security deposit. Those benefits depend on the plan, the year, and whether you qualify. We will tell you what a plan actually includes for your ZIP code, and we will also tell you when an extra is not worth giving up a doctor.

If your current Advantage plan still fits your doctors and your drugs, we will say so. A new plan has to improve something that matters to you.

When you can enroll

Most people can join or switch a Medicare Advantage plan during Annual Enrollment, October 15 through December 7, for coverage that starts January 1. If you already have an Advantage plan, the Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period runs January 1 through March 31. Turning 65, losing other coverage, or moving can open a Special Enrollment Period.

You need Medicare Part A and Part B to join a Medicare Advantage plan. We can walk through the timing with you so a late window does not sneak up.

What we compare

  • Are your doctors and hospitals in the network?
  • Are your prescriptions covered at your pharmacy, and at what tier?
  • What will you pay for a primary visit, a specialist, and a hospital stay?
  • What is the plan’s out-of-pocket maximum?
  • Do the extras matter to you, or do they distract from the medical coverage?

Common questions

Is a $0 premium Medicare Advantage plan actually free?

A $0 premium means you may not pay an extra monthly premium to the plan. You still pay your Medicare Part B premium unless the plan includes a giveback, and you still pay copays when you use care. We look at the full cost, not just the premium line.

Can I keep my doctor on a Medicare Advantage plan?

Only if that doctor is in the plan’s network, or if the plan pays for out-of-network care and you are willing to pay that cost. We check your doctors before we recommend a plan.

What if my Advantage plan still works?

Then we tell you to keep it. Shannon and Dustin recommend a change when it helps your doctors, drugs, or costs. They do not move people for the sake of a new application.

We do not offer every plan available in your area. For the full list of options, contact Medicare.gov, 1-800-MEDICARE, or the Oklahoma Medicare Assistance Program at 1-800-763-2828. Calling us connects you with a licensed insurance agent.
