Dental, vision, and hearing coverage, without pretending Medicare already includes it.

Original Medicare does not cover routine dental care, eyeglasses, or hearing aids. Some Medicare Advantage plans include a dental, vision, or hearing allowance. Other people keep Original Medicare and add a stand-alone policy. We help you see which route actually covers the dentist, the frames, or the hearing aid you have in mind.

Read the allowance, not the headline

A plan can advertise dental coverage and then pay a small amount toward a cleaning while a crown is excluded, or cap hearing aids far below the pair you were quoted. We look at annual maximums, waiting periods, and which providers are in network.

If your Medicare Advantage plan already includes a benefit that covers what you need, we will not sell you a second policy on top of it. If that benefit is too thin for the work you have scheduled, we will show you a stand-alone option and the premium that comes with it.

What to bring

The name of your dentist, optometrist, or hearing clinic, and any treatment you already know is coming. A policy with a 12-month waiting period on major services will not help a crown you need this spring. We would rather tell you that before you pay a premium.

What we compare

  • Does your Medicare Advantage plan already include this benefit?
  • What is the annual maximum, and what does it pay for preventive versus major care?
  • Is there a waiting period?
  • Is your dentist, eye doctor, or hearing provider in network?

Common questions

Does Medicare cover dentures, glasses, or hearing aids?

Routine dental, eyeglasses, and hearing aids are generally not covered by Original Medicare. Some Advantage plans offer an allowance. A stand-alone policy is the other route. We compare the one that matches the care you need.

Can I keep my dentist?

Only if that dentist accepts the plan. Give us the office name and we will check before you enroll.
